The recently unveiled trailer for the horror-comedy Sardaar Ji 3, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa, has certainly heightened anticipation for its June 27 release. However, this time, it’s not just the on-screen antics grabbing attention. Fans are finding themselves in a surprising twist, as Diljit’s collaboration with popular Pakistani actor Hania Aamir—alongside Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela—ahead of an India release has ignited a considerable controversy.

Diljit himself addressed the situation, sharing the trailer on social media with a clear clarification: “Sardaar Ji 3 Releasing 27th June OVERSEAS Only FADH LAO BHOOND DIAN LATTAN.”

Despite the explicit overseas-only release, the trailer has not escaped criticism on social media. One fan expressed their dismay, writing, “Nation comes first—feeling let down to see Diljit Dosanjh so cozy with Pakistani co-stars.” Another commenter questioned, “Didn’t expect this from Diljit post-Pahalgam—where’s the line?”

These concerns are deeply rooted in the recent tensions between India and Pakistan. The terror attack in Pahalgam in April 2025 and India’s subsequent Operation Sindoor stirred powerful nationalistic sentiments. Following these events, the Indian film industry maintained a firm stance, with Pakistani artists remaining banned from working in India since the 2019 Pulwama attack, a ban strongly advocated by the All Indian Cine Workers Association. During that tense period, even the Instagram accounts of Pakistani actors were blocked in India.

Adding to the uproar, just last week, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) sharply condemned Diljit’s decision, even cautioning that he might face industry sanctions for his collaboration with Pakistani artists. As of now, the actor has not yet issued a public response to these condemnations.
