Amol Parashar is currently making waves in the OTT landscape with his powerful performance in Kull: The Legacy of the Raisingghs, now streaming on JioHotstar. In the series, Parashar takes on a compelling negative role, exploring the intricate and often dark dynamics of a fractured royal dynasty. He recently shared that this particular character stands out as one of the most challenging he’s ever tackled. Beyond his own role, he also offered his perspective on the portrayal of negative characters in general, even referencing controversial films like Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal and Kabir Singh.
During an interview, Amol Parashar remarked, “It’s also fun sometimes, which is why I feel that whether it’s a character in Animal or Kabir Singh, what people take away from it is a kind of catharsis. Maybe you wouldn’t do those things in real life, or you wouldn’t allow yourself to behave that way. But watching someone else act on those primal instincts, attracts you.”
According to Amol, negative characters possess a certain captivating quality. He also weighed in on the discussion around audiences justifying violence depicted in films, asserting, “In my value system, violence doesn’t exist, not just in romantic relationships, but in my life in general.”
