Tanushree Dutta, an actor best known for her role in Aashiq Banaya Aapne, has claimed that she is being harassed at home. The star said she has been dealing with unsettling things, including loud noises, robbery, and door knocking outside her home in a series of tearful videos posted on Instagram.
In the first video, Dutta appeared visibly distressed and said, “I am being harassed in my own house. I just called the police, and they have asked me to come to the police station to file a formal complaint. I am not well. I have been harassed so much in the past five years that I have fallen sick.” She went on to say that long-term stress has caused her to develop chronic fatigue syndrome, which has a significant influence on her day-to-day activities and career.
She stated that the building management had neglected to address the loud noises and hammering outside her house, which had been ongoing since 2020, in a follow-up article. “Now I just live with it and put headphones with mantras to distract my mind and keep my sanity,” she wrote.
Tanushree Dutta further claimed that the domestic assistance she had recruited had been coerced into harassing her. She described episodes of theft and suspected water tampering, including an instance in which she observed a maid making suspicious phone calls before breaking into her house.
The actor has previously talked about experiencing harassment while travelling and staying in hotels, connecting those incidents to her 2018 public accusation of sexual harassment against Nana Patekar, which was a significant factor in the start of the MeToo movement in India. Additionally, she accused filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri of misbehaving.
According to Dutta, she plans to submit a formal complaint detailing the instances. According to reports, authorities have advised her to go to the police station and file an official complaint.
