Former India captain Virat Kohli, who announced his retirement from T20I and Tests, is getting ready for the Australia series in October after the Bangladesh ODI series, slated for August, was postponed.

Since his previous Champions Trophy performance, Kohli has shown that he is ready to play the ODI format once more by sharing a photo from an indoor net session. Kohli posted a picture of himself working with Gujarat Titans assistant coach Naeem Amin on his Instagram story. “I appreciate your assistance with the hit, brother. It’s always a pleasure to see you,” he wrote.

Kohli liked a post about his return to the ODIs

The image was published by a fan page, implying that Kohli is preparing for the Australian ODIs. Kohli’s official account liked the post.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will continue to play in the One-Day International format.

After retiring from T20Is and Test matches, Kohli and Rohit Sharma will both continue to play in the ODI format, with Rohit serving as the team’s captain.

Age is becoming a crucial consideration in the BCCI’s cautious conversations over their long-term ODI ambitions. By the time of the 2027 ODI World Cup, Rohit will be 40, and Kohli will be 39. Despite this, their combined ODI record of 83 centuries and overs 25,000 highlights their worth to the squad.

They still have a significant impact on 50-over cricket, although India no longer relies on them in other formats. The Australia series, which is slated for October 19–25, is India’s next ODI assignment. It is expected that both veterans will play essential roles.
