The grand finale of COLORS’ ‘Dhamaal with Pati Patni Aur Panga’ is around the corner and it’s bigger, louder, and more emotional than anyone imagined. The real-ationship show that lets India peek into the laughter, leg-pulling, vows, vulnerabilities and real panga of married life now races toward its final question: Which couple will be crowned the sarvagunn sampann jodi? The upcoming episode was expected to bring laughter, romance, and full-blown dhamaal, but what no one expected the show’s resident panga-maker, Munawar Faruqui, to break down in tears on stage. The co-host who stirred the pot, instigated pangas, sparked teasing wars, and kept the couples on their toes throughout the season turned emotional in the finale. As the journey recap AV rolled, capturing every moment of love, nok-jhok, frustration, breakthroughs, and renewed connections among the couples, Munawar’s eyes welled up. He took a moment to apologise for any words that may have hurt someone along the way, saying that this show and the people on it had become like family to him.
On this emotional moment, Munawar Faruqui shared, A large part of my career has been on the internet, and so Dhamaal With Pati Patni Aur Panga became my chance to reconnect with the most loyal audience there is — the television audience. The entire team of the show was invited into the living rooms of so many Indian households every weekend, and so being part of it never felt like work. And it’s a matter of pride to be hosting a show that made its mark right from its debut and became one of the most loved non-fiction shows. In the finale, when all those moments played back, I couldn’t hold the tears. I lived a hundred real stories and found myself somewhere in between. This show gave me millions of families and very few are fortunate to experience that kind of love once in a lifetime. With all the success this show has garnered, I feel like we’ve laid a solid foundation for a franchise and I hope it grows into a legacy that lasts.
