Mrunal Thakur came to Raunaq Rajani’s show RelationSh!t Advice to promote Do Deewane Seher Mein. She left having told the most relatable relationship story of 2026.

When Rajani asked whether she tends to feel insecure, Mrunal skipped the polished answer. Instead, she told her ex-boyfriend’s story — and it is a masterpiece of human behaviour.

He Never Said a Word. He Just Went to the Gym.

Early in her career, Mrunal worked with Hrithik Roshan on Super 30 (2019) and later with Shahid Kapoor on Jersey (2022). She was also in a long-distance relationship with a Scandinavian boyfriend at the time.

He saw the call sheets. He said nothing. Then he quietly declared war on Hrithik Roshan’s physique.

“He started working out. Lost like 15–17 kgs. He got muscles,” Mrunal said, while the room began to understand exactly where this was going.

So far, so committed. But the story has a third act.

“After a point, he stopped working out, started eating, and gained 20 more kg. He said he’s tired of catching up.”

Tired of catching up — to a standard Mrunal never set. “I never asked you to lose weight,” she said. “It was his insecurity.”

This Is Bigger Than a Funny Anecdote

Most entertainment outlets will run this as a quick quote piece — funny headline, thin context, done. But the story deserves more than that, because it captures something real about how insecurity actually works.

He did not confront her. He did not ask for reassurance. He built an imaginary rival, measured himself against it in secret, and quit when the gap felt too wide. That pattern shows up in relationships everywhere — Bollywood call sheets or not.

This is also why creator-led interview shows like RelationSh!t Advice are outperforming traditional Bollywood media moments right now. Stars on Koffee with Karan still perform candour. On shows like Rajani’s, they actually produce it. Audiences in 2026 can tell the difference instantly — and they share what feels real.

The Film Behind the Confession

Do Deewane Seher Mein, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and directed by Ravi Udyawar, centres on two people carrying private insecurities into a shared love story. Mrunal noted that the film “incidentally runs on the theme of insecurities in relationships.”

There is nothing incidental about it. Every interview this cast gives is proof of concept for the film’s emotional core — and that is smart, intentional promo strategy that most competitors miss entirely.

Siddhant Chaturvedi also opened up on the show, recalling how his wealthy college classmates — especially one girl he liked — made him feel small. Rajani pointed out it sounded like Gully Boy. Siddhant did not disagree.

What Comes Next

Mrunal has Dacoit: A Love Story, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, and Pooja Meri Jaan ahead. Siddhant follows Do Deewane Seher Mein with Dil Ka Darwaaza Khol Na Darling.

For now, both belong to this film — and to a story about a man who fought Bollywood’s most chiseled standard in total silence, surrendered, and never told the one person who might have told him to stop before he started.

He got muscles. She never noticed. That is the whole lesson.
