“There is a growing desire to reconnect with heritage and celebrate it boldly,” he notes, adding that facial jewellery carries a sense of drama and identity that resonates with modern audiences.
This philosophy is visible in his Malka collection, created in collaboration with Kohinoor Jewellers. Rather than recreating historical pieces exactly, the collection interprets traditional aesthetics through contemporary design.
Gemstones like emeralds and rubies add richness, while lighter structures make the pieces wearable for modern wardrobes.
The result is jewellery that feels rooted in tradition yet unmistakably current.
From Runway Experiment to Real Wedding Style
High fashion often introduces experimental ideas, but trends only truly take off once they reach real-life celebrations. That transition appears to be happening quickly with facelets.
Brands such as Vaidaan have already started adapting the concept for everyday bridal styling.
Founder Ishita Gupta says the idea emerged from observing a gap in wedding jewellery.
“Mehndi and haldi ceremonies are the most fun parts of a wedding, but I always felt like the jewellery wasn’t keeping up,” she explains. The brand introduced the Facelet™, aiming to create something playful and expressive for modern brides.
The response, she says, was immediate.
Demand surged within days of launch.

For brides experimenting with unconventional styling, facelets offer something unexpected. Influencer Khushi Jain recalls first seeing the look on fashion runways.
“I had seen these looks on runways but never on an actual bride,” she says. When she tried it on herself, the accessory instantly elevated the outfit.
Not everyone was convinced at first.
“My own mother said, ‘What’s on your face? You should take it off,’” she laughs. But the reaction eventually shifted once the entire look came together.
Another bride and makeup artist, Jasmeen Kaur, says her facelet styling quickly gained traction online. The look drew curiosity from guests and went viral on social media, inspiring many others to recreate it.
