Ajay Devgn, who was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, recently addressed the film’s reception and the criticism it faced despite performing well at the box office.
While the movie managed to rake in impressive numbers, one common complaint from audiences was that the prominence of Singham’s character was overshadowed by the expansive supporting cast. While speaking at an event, Ajay acknowledged the shortcomings and assured fans that they would be rectified in the future.
When asked about the film’s underwhelming impact and the dilution of his character’s presence, Ajay Devgan admitted that he had received similar feedback from many viewers. He assured everyone that the essence of Singham, particularly its intense and action-packed sequences, would be retained in the next installment. Reflecting on the audience’s response, he promised that the raw, fearless energy of the character, known for his aggressive approach to justice, would be brought back in full force.
Singham Again marks the third installment in Rohit Shetty’s Singham franchise and stands as its highest-grossing entry, having earned approximately Rs 300 crore worldwide. The film draws parallels with the mythological epic Ramayana, weaving a narrative around Bajirao Singham’s journey to rescue his wife Avni. Alongside Ajay Devgn, the ensemble cast includes Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Shroff, each playing significant roles in the Cop Universe. With this film, Rohit Shetty expanded his successful franchise, which now consists of Singham, Singham Returns, Simmba, Sooryavanshi, and Singham Again, further solidifying his cinematic universe.
