Himachal Pradesh will host a massive festival to promote the state’s distinct culture and heritage. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu revealed plans to celebrate the ‘Dehra Utsav’ by the end of 2024. To attract more tourists, the event will highlight the area’s unique local culture.

During a visit to the Dehra Assembly Constituency on August 16, Sukhu evaluated potential locations for new offices and initiatives. He urged the district administration to identify land for a new Superintendent of Police office and other facilities in Dehra, according to a statement from the Himachal CMO’s office.

Sukhu reviewed the status of ongoing construction projects in Dehra, which included a fire station, SDM office, hospital, sericulture office, and government senior secondary schools. He interacted with students in schools and directed teachers to keep students informed of current events and developments in the state.

He emphasized the importance of exploring new tourism opportunities in Dehra and the surrounding areas, and he directed the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board to conduct a survey to address the region’s electricity concerns.

The Chief Minister requested detailed project reports for drinking water schemes in Muhal, Khabli, Shivnath, Dhawala, Rainta, Kariyada, and nearby villages. Similar DPRs should be prepared for Bilaspur, Guler, Nandpur, and Ludret in the Dehra constituency.

Moreover, Chief Minister Sukhu announced plans to build bus stops at Khundiyan in Jawalamukhi and Dadasiba in the Jaswan Paragpur area to improve commuter services for tourists. An integrated sports stadium will also be built in Dehra to encourage youth participation in sports and combat drug abuse.
