“Heeramandi” represents Fardeen Khan’s 14-year acting comeback. The actor talked about making a comeback with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series during the trailer’s premiere. Wali Mohammed, portrayed by Fardeen, is a “nawab” (lord) who is “caught in a whirlwind struggle of love and duty.”
Speaking on his 14-year hiatus from performing, Fardeen Khan discussed “Heeramandi.” The actor stated, “First of all, it’s been a very long gap for me,” during the premiere of the series’ teaser. To put it mildly, it’s been nearly 14 years. I’m really appreciative of the chance to collaborate with this incredible ensemble of stars, Netflix, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali personally. There isn’t a greater chance for me to make a comeback to the cinema as an actor.
“For me, this was something I have never done, and it was the ideal role for me,” he continued. When you return to the screen at my age, you bring with you a certain amount of life experience and knowledge, and you realise that you can truly add to the depth that Sanjay develops in each of his characters. His characters have a great deal of nuance and complexity. He is the only character writer like him. He experiences a wide range of emotions and possesses an innate comprehension of them. Working with him is intimidating, but when you put everything together, it all makes perfect sense. I’m really appreciative of the opportunity and thrilled to be here.
