Farhan Akhtar possibility that there could be another ZNMD sequel

As Lakshya celebrates 20 years with its theatrical re-release, Farhan Akhtar shared his thoughts about working with Hrithik Roshan and ZNMD 2.

Farhan Akhtar and Hrithik Roshan have developed an exceptional working partnership in the entertainment industry since 2004 when their first collaboration began with Lakshya. Since then, their filmographies have produced consistently hit films together – starting with Lakshya.

Farhan Akhtar later joined Hrithik Roshan again for Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance (2009) and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) movies, further cementing their friendship. To commemorate Lakshya’s 20th anniversary with its theatrical re-release, Farhan shared his thoughts about working together with Hrithik.

Farhan responded positively when asked if he plans on working with Hrithik again: “Oh definitely… We meet often and talk about this; however, there must be mutual enthusiasm between the actors for working together as it ensures that the story is right – we all keep each other in check!”

“Our intention is absolutely clear: I believe strongly in collaborating on something and am hopeful that within one or two years we’ll find a mutually beneficial project to pursue,” he stated.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara told the tale of three friends on an adventurous road trip who each chose exciting activities together – such as taking part in the Tomatina festival, skydiving, scuba diving, and running with bulls – while participating in each activity together. It was highly successful. Farhan spoke briefly in an interview about ZNMD 2 as audiences have owned its success: “All the actors hope the sequel happens as fans have loved the film immensely. Zoya (Bowen’s character in particular) may come up with something for ZNMD 2 as we hope.”

Zoya Akhtar on Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2

Before being asked by ANI if she planned a sequel for ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara,’ Zoya Akhtar replied in the affirmative. She stated her interest: “Yes, this comes up all of the time and everyone seems interested – producers, actors, and ourselves alike! That movie meant so much to us so if there is enough interest among producers/actors/us then part two may well happen; otherwise we won’t do it just for money!” Audience members attending viewings can expect something different when watching part two – otherwise, audiences won’t be satisfied when viewing both parts.
