How to Extend the Life of Your Smartphone’s Battery

Saving the battery life of your phones is vital as they help us stay connected, among other things. Learn 5 key tips to save your smartphone’s battery life.

Smartphones keep us engaged, connected, and provide information at our fingertips, making us very reliant on them for every task we perform during the day.  USA Today/SurveyMonkey once polled 1,665 people on the top feature they would like to see in a new iPhone. Longer battery life was the top answer from 75% of those people, hence one of the most crucial things is to conserve  your smartphone’s battery life.

Here are 5 key tips to save your smartphone’s battery life:

Turn off location services and Bluetooth: GPS and Bluetooth drain your battery if they are left on. To disable GPS, go to the quick access panel and uncheck the checkbox. Turning off Bluetooth is the same as turning off GPS. When not in use, users can also disable the feature.

Reduce display brightness: One of the most significant aspects of a smartphone is its display. When the display brightness is set too high, it can drain your phone’s battery quickly. You can dim the light or turn it down a few notches. This will eventually allow you to save a significant amount of battery life.

Kill all undesirable background programmes: If you want to save battery life, you must kill all background apps on your phone. Background programmes keep the processor busy, which reduces the device’s battery life over time. You must kill these apps to reduce processing utilisation and battery drain.

Turn off the Always-On display feature: Using the Always-On display causes the battery to drain constantly because the display is always on. When you disable the option from the Settings menu, the phone’s display will remain turned off when you are not using it. Live wallpapers and widgets use phone resources to stay updated, which depletes the battery faster.

Use no live wallpapers or widgets: Because the display is always turned on, the battery is constantly depleted. When you disable the option from the Settings menu, the phone’s display will remain turned off when you are not using it. Live wallpapers and widgets use phone resources to stay updated, which depletes the battery faster.
