“I Can’t Struggle….” Pankaj Kapur On Not Directing Any Movie After Shahid’s Mausam

Veteran actor Pankaj Kapur, who directed the 2011 film Mausam starring his son Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, recently explained why he hasn’t taken on another directorial project since then. In an interview, Pankaj Kapur shared that while he enjoys directing, his temperament leans more towards acting. He revealed, “I do have scripts, but I cannot go from door-to-door selling them. I do not have that temperament. My temperament is more of an actor.”

Kapur further clarified that while he’s open to directing in the future, he’s not willing to struggle to get a film made. He mentioned that if someone approaches him with interest in one of his scripts, he would be happy to take on the role of director. “I love directing, but I cannot struggle to make a film. So, after Mausam, I decided to be more of an actor, and when an opportunity arises, I will direct,” Kapur added.

Currently, Pankaj Kapur is focused on promoting his upcoming film Binny and Family, which also features Anjini Dhawan, niece of actor Varun Dhawan. The movie explores themes of family issues, communication gaps, and generational differences.

What do you think, should Pankaj Kapur continue with acting only or he should direct as well.
