Instagram tests new feature to share feed posts with close friends only

In order to enhance user experience, Instagram, which is owned by Meta, is presently testing a function that allows users to share feed posts just with their “Close Friends” group. Lia Haberman, a digital media marketing instructor, brought this new discovery to light by tweeting a screenshot of the capability on X (previously known as Twitter).

This, according to Haberman, may sway users away from Stories and direct messaging and toward a more focused ‘Close Friends’ feed experience.

According to TechCrunch, this capability is being tested in a select countries, though the company has not stated which ones. “We’re testing the ability for people in specific countries to share feed posts with their Close Friends,” stated a Meta representative. We’re always searching for new methods for our community to interact and express themselves on Instagram.

Alessandro Paluzzi, a leaker and mobile developer, uncovered this potential in May. “A test of this was spotted in May by @alex193a (Alessandro Paluzzi), but it’s now out there for some accounts – do you see Audience in your feed posting options?” Haberman stated.

If this functionality becomes widely available, it may become less essential for people to have separate accounts exclusively for their close friends.

According to previous Instagram-related reports, Instagram is working on a lengthier version of Reels. This tool would allow users to record videos for up to 10 minutes. When Alessandro Paluzzi revealed this accomplishment on X, he tweeted photographs of two Reels pages side by side, one for recording three-minute videos and the other for larger 10-minute recordings.

By making Reels last 10 minutes, Instagram connects itself more closely with long-form video accessible on sites such as YouTube.

Conclusion:-
