Mani Ratnam directed movie, Dil Se (1998) which starred Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala in lead roles turned 26 recently. Manisha Koirala recently gave an interview in which she not only talked about her experience of working with SRK but she also revealed as to why they didn’t work together after Dil Se.
Manisha stated that they did worked in one movie, Guddu after Dil Se but Guddu is relatively unknown and as far as collaborating on more projects with Shah Rukh is concerned, she said, “In this industry, it’s the heroes who decide who they want to work with, not the heroines.” In simple words, she made it clear that they haven’t worked together because SRK may not have wanted to work with her and he may have influenced the moviemakers as well.
Dil Se was a box-office failure and director Mani Ratnam cited that his lack of Hindi language was the reason behind this failure. He added that he had to depend on the actors to ensure that the shot was taken properly.
Manisha was last seen in Heeramandi and she was praised a lot for her performance in the series.
