Mithun Chakraborty Talks About Kolkata Doctor Case, Feels Ashamed To Be A Bengali

The nation is gripped by protests following the horrific incident involving a female trainee doctor in Kolkata on the night of August 9. Citizens and prominent public figures alike have expressed their outrage and condemnation of those responsible. Actor-Politician Mithun Chakraborty is the latest celebrity to join the chorus of voices demanding swift justice for the crime.

The official X account of BJP West Bengal, @BJP4Bengal, shared a short clip featuring Mithun, where he expressed his sorrow and offered condolences to the victim’s family. Speaking in Bengali, the actor described the situation in West Bengal as “terrible” and warned that things may worsen in the state soon. He said, “I have repeatedly said in many places that the situation in West Bengal will become very frightening in the coming days… As a Bengali, I can’t walk with my head held high.”

He further added, “My condolences to the family of the deceased doctor. Those who are involved in this incident should be punished as soon as possible, this is my wish.” Mithun Chakraborty captioned the video clip with, “Atrocities such as the murder of female students in West Bengal, Mahaguru Mithun Chakraborty’s speech to protest against the insecurity of women and demand justice for Abhaya.”

Whatever has happened is highly disgusting and sad and the culprits should be given such heavy punishment that people should be scared of indulging in such crime in the future.
