The Mumbai Police have apprehended a burqa-clad woman and her accomplice who allegedly threatened veteran writer Salim Khan by invoking gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s name.
The incident took place on Wednesday morning, September 18. According to police sources, the duo involved in the incident does not have any actual connection to the Bishnoi gang, and their actions were intended as an attempt to ‘tease’ Salim Khan.
In an official statement, the police detailed the sequence of events. Salim Khan, who was on his regular morning walk near the Windermere Building, was approached by a man driving a scooty with a veiled woman as the passenger. The pair parked close to Salim Khan, and the woman allegedly said, “Should I send Lawrence Bishnoi?” before fleeing the scene. Salim Khan noted part of the scooty’s registration number—7444—but could not see the full license plate.
The Mumbai Police have registered a case against both the driver and the woman. The incident comes just months after an earlier attack in April, when gunshots were fired outside Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra. Salman, who has been facing ongoing death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, narrowly escaped harm. The two men responsible for the April attack, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, were later arrested and identified as members hired by the Bishnoi gang.
