Babar Azam is counted among the top batters of the present times and each Pakistani cricket fan is hoping to see him perform well in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 and ICC ODI World Cup 2023 because they know pretty well that Pakistan can’t win any tournament if their skipper doesn’t perform well.
Babar also won’t like to repeat history as his performance in the last Asia Cup and T20 World Cup was pretty disappointing.
Pakistani cricketer Abid Ali feels that Babar Azam should be criticised if he fails to perform because when he is criticised, he performs well. Here is what Abid Ali said in an interview, “It’s good, Babar should be criticized. When he is criticised, Allah blesses him in a way that he scores without any stopping. Babar has played with me; he’s also my junior – now he is a world-class player. Allah has given Pakistan such a star that there are no words to describe it. His [Babar] batting skills – it’s always fun to watch him play.”
He further added, “All commentators worldwide praise him; so do we. We can pray for him that Allah bestows him with health and that he may continue to perform for the Pakistan cricket team. If he doesn’t perform in one or two matches, people start complaining that Babar didn’t perform; even the ones criticizing him want him to perform.”
Pakistan is number 1 team in ODIs after they defeated Afghanistan by 3-0. Let’s see how they will perform in the upcoming tournaments.
