The Indian cricket team registered a big win by 10 wickets over Nepal in the ODI match which was played yesterday at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium and now it will be playing in the Super Four stage of the tournament.
After the match, while speaking in the presentation, the Indian skipper gave a big hint about the 15-member squad which will be selected for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma said that they knew the Asia Cup wouldn’t give them a better picture as there were only two matches so he already had a hint about the 15-member squad which will get selected for the ODI World Cup.
He said, “When we came here we knew what our World Cup 15 is going to be like, the Asia Cup was not going to give us a better picture because it was only two games. But luckily we got to bat in the first game and bowl in this, so that made it a complete game for us. Still have a lot to work on. Lot of guys coming back from injuries and they need time to get back into the groove. Hardik and Ishan were very good in the last game to get us to that score. The bowling was okay today but the fielding was bad, we need to improve on that.”
As per the reports, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma and Prasidh Krishna have failed in finding a place in the 15-member squad of the ODI World Cup but changes can be made in the squad till 28 September 2023.
