The excitement for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 continues to build, with much of it focused on Vidya Balan’s return as the iconic character Manjulika after 17 years. The film also features Madhuri Dixit Nene as the “new Manjulika,” setting the stage for a dance face-off between Vidya and Madhuri, a sequence that has caught the attention of many fans.
During the launch of Ami Je Tomar 3.0 in Mumbai last week, producer Bhushan Kumar shared insights into Vidya’s involvement in the film. Initially, the team had approached her to reprise her role as Manjulika in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, but when she declined, Tabu was cast in her place.
In a recent interview, Vidya expressed her admiration for Tabu’s performance, despite not being part of the sequel herself. Praising Tabu, Vidya said, “I love Tabu. I don’t think I spoke to her after the film. I haven’t met her in years. But I’ve always said that Tabu is one of those actors who makes everything look like she’s just sipping water. She’s so effortless. I remember that in the early years when I had watched her do Maachis, Astitva and her comedy films, I thought that she was like water. She flows into anything. Whatever she does, she’s always amazing!”
Vidya’s comments highlight her enduring respect for Tabu’s versatility, as the latter continues to make an impact in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
