Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher and Manoj Bajpayee starrer 2013 released Special 26 is one of the most loved thrillers of Indian Cinema. The movie was remade in Tamil with Suriya and Keerthy Suresh in 2018 and it was titled as Thaanaa Serndha Koottam.
Special 26 was loved so much that the audiences started hoping to see a sequel of the movie but even after 10 years, they are still waiting for the sequel. When actor Anupam Kher was asked about the same, he said, “This is one of the questions I’ve been wanting to ask Neeraj for so many years. Every time he’s asked about it, he turns around and hides his face.”
Director Neeraj Pandey and Anupam Kher first worked together in A Wednesday (2008) and then they worked in some other movies including Baby (2015), MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), etc. Talking about Special 26, Anupam Kher said, “I’ve been after him to make a sequel to Special 26. He keeps making multiple seasons of his web shows and he should make a second part of Special 26 too because it deserves a sequel. But it seems like he isn’t excited to make it. Hopefully, it will happen soon, it will happen in time.”
