The 16th season of the IPL is about to begin. But do you know who has made the most money in the IPL thus far?
The 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on March 31 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. The opening game will be between CSK and the Gujarat Titans. During the auction, clubs generously spent money on the players of their choosing and added them to their roster.
The highest-paid player in IPL history, though, is Rohit Sharma, the skipper of Mumbai Indians, who has earned Rs 178.6 crore thus far. Rohit Sharma formerly played for the Deccan Chargers before becoming the captain of MI. He has crowned the Mumbai Indians winners five times, the most in IPL history.
MS Dhoni is the captain of the squad that has won the most IPL titles. He has been with Chennai Super Kings since the inaugural IPL, and he was suspended for two years in between.
Virat Kohli, the former captain of Team India and RCB, is the third most earning player with Rs 173.2 crore. Suresh Raina is the fourth highest earner, with Rs 110 crore, while Ravindra Jadeja is fifth, with Rs 109 crore.
MS Dhoni was the captain of CSK for two years, but when the team’s performance was poor, he announced his resignation, and MS Dhoni took over as captain. In the IPL, the CSK team pays Jadeja more than MS Dhoni.
