It was a night of big shots and big moments. But while India celebrated a dominant win, another detail quietly grabbed attention, the watch on Hardik Pandya’s wrist.

Under the bright stadium lights, a sky-blue timepiece peeked out against his jersey, instantly catching the eye. In today’s world, where athletes are also fashion influencers, Pandya has built a reputation for bold style choices. This one, however, was more than just a fashion statement.

The watch he wore was the Epic X Sport ‘Rudra’ Edition by Jacob & Co. It is not something you can easily find in stores. In fact, only 25 pieces of this model exist worldwide. The design is usually reserved for serious collectors and close associates of the brand, making it a rare sight in a public sporting arena.
For Pandya, who also captains the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, the watch matched his personality — strong, stylish and distinctive.

The 41mm case is made from Grade 5 titanium, a material known for being tough yet lightweight. At 11.5mm thick and with 50 metres of water resistance, it is built to handle movement and action rather than just sit in a display case. Inside, it runs on the brand’s in-house automatic movement, known as Calibre JCHA01. The design is skeletonised into an X-shaped structure, allowing parts of the inner mechanism to remain visible. It also offers a 70-hour power reserve, blending technical detail with visual drama.

What makes the watch even more unique is its cultural inspiration. The rhodium-plated dial draws from the image of Lord Shiva in his Rudra form. Elements like the Om symbol and textures inspired by Rudraksha beads are woven into the design. Even the watch hands subtly reflect the shape of the trishul and damaru, adding spiritual symbolism to a luxury sports watch. The sky-blue honeycomb rubber strap echoed the tone of India’s jersey, making the look feel natural and well thought out.

Priced at $28,000, which is roughly Rs 25 lakh, the watch sits firmly in the high-end luxury category. But beyond the price tag, its true appeal lies in its rarity and the story it tells — a mix of performance, culture and individuality.

On a night when India created headlines with the ball, Hardik Pandya made sure his wrist did the talking too.
