In a horrific incident, a 30 years old man who was employed as a security guard murdered his 12-yr sister due to a misunderstanding as he felt that his sister was having an affair with someone and she got physical with him.
The incident took place in Thane, Mumbai, and the brother doubted his sister because he saw some blood stains on her clothes which were the result of menarche (term used when a girl menstruates for the first time).
The 12 years old girl, her brother and her sister-in-law used to live in Ulhasnagar and the girl was discharging blood for some time but when her brother questioned her about it, she wasn’t able to say anything as she had no knowledge about menstruation.
As per the reports, brother tortured his sister by beating her and there were burn signs on her face, neck and back too as he wanted to know with whom she was having an affair. She was pronounced dead when she was taken to hospital and the Ulhasnagar police has arrested the brother and booked him under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
A 12 years old girl may have no knowledge of menstruation but it is highly surprising and shocking that a married man of 30 is not aware of it and this calls for imparting education in this regard at a big level.
