In a powerful initiative to spread awareness about women’s health, the PMK Foundation, in association with Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce, Dahisar, is organizing a meaningful Walkathon on 7th March dedicated to Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness. Event Supported by the Times Applaud Foundation, the event carries a simple yet powerful message: “Walk for Awareness, Walk for Life.”

Cancer awareness initiatives have become increasingly important in India, where thousands of women lose their lives every year due to late detection of breast and cervical cancer. Medical experts consistently emphasize that early detection can save lives, and community awareness plays a critical role in encouraging timely screening and diagnosis.

The Walkathon aims to bring together around 500 enthusiastic students, who will walk together in solidarity to raise awareness about the importance of regular health check-ups, early detection, and supporting cancer survivors. What makes this event even more inspiring is that the walk will be led by courageous cancer warriors—individuals who have faced cancer and emerged stronger, becoming symbols of resilience and hope.

Their presence will serve as a powerful reminder that cancer is not just a medical battle but also an emotional and social journey. By sharing their strength and stories, these warriors will inspire young participants to become ambassadors of awareness within their families and communities.

Educational institutions play a crucial role in shaping socially responsible citizens, and the participation of students from Thakur Ramnarayan College of Arts & Commerce highlights how youth can drive meaningful change. Through this Walkathon, students will not only learn about the importance of women’s health but will also actively contribute to spreading awareness about life-saving preventive measures.

The Times Applaud Foundation, known for supporting impactful social initiatives, has extended its support to amplify the reach and message of this campaign. Their involvement underscores the growing collaboration between organizations, educational institutions, and social leaders to address critical health challenges.

Events like these are more than symbolic walks—they represent a collective commitment to break the silence around cancer, encourage conversations about health, and inspire action.

As hundreds of young participants step forward on 7th March, each step will symbolize hope, awareness, and the power of community support.

Because sometimes, one step of awareness can save a life.

Ek Kadam… Zindagi Bachane Ki Aur. 💗
