We have come across many horrific incidents in which young minor girls have been s*xually exploited by aged men but a unique and disgusting incident has come to light in Uttar Pradesh which has left everyone in a state of shock and disbelief.
As per the reports, a seven years old boy has been charged of raping a five-yr girl in Kanpur Dehat, Akbarpur district. The incident became public on Sunday night after the girl’s mother accused the boy of s*xually assaulting the girl when she was playing outside the house. After the mother filed a complaint, the police sent both the kids to the district hospital and rape was confirmed in the report of medical tests.
The FIR has been filed in section 376 of the IPC and section 5/6 of the POCSO Act but section 82 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 under Chapter IV reads “nothing is an offence which is done by a child under 7 years of age” which means that a child below 7 years can’t be hold responsible for any crime.
Satish Singh, the station inspector of Akbarpur police station said to media that a lot of caution is being practiced by police while dealing with this case. He added, “If a child below seven years of age commits a crime, it does not fall in the category of crime. Nevertheless, further action will be taken in this case only after taking legal opinion. The FIR was registered on Tuesday.”
