The Kerala High Court halted a cheating case against Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber on Wednesday.
Acting on a petition from the couple and their employee, the judge halted the proceedings.
According to the complaint, Leone did not attend despite being paid lakhs of rupees to perform.
A case was filed against the pair for alleged violations of Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating and dishonesty inducing delivery of property), and 34 (acts done by multiple persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
Their plea further noted that the complainant had filed a civil complaint with identical claims that was dismissed for lack of evidence in July 2022.
So they tried to stop the case.
In February 2021, Justice Ashok Menon granted the trio anticipatory bail and protection from arrest.
