The market research firm Entropik was established in February 2016 in Bangalore by Ranjan Kumar (CEO), Lava Kumar (CPO), and Bharat Singh Shekhawat (Head of Engineering).
It tracks in-the-moment emotional responses to advertisements, films, and other visual stimuli using patented technologies including Facial Coding, AI-Enabled Eye Tracking, and Voice AI technology.
Facial Coding uses a webcam or a mobile device camera to collect facial expressions, quantify them into seven emotions, and classify them as positive and negative emotions.
In addition to visualising the user’s point of view with heatmaps and gaze plots to assess their levels of attention and engagement, the eye tracker analyses particular regions of interest to collect numerous visual data.
Speech AI technology detects user eye gaze movements to determine where and how long users are looking, as well as visualising the user’s point of view (POV) via heatmaps and gaze plots to monitor their levels of attention and engagement.
A B2B Software as a Service (SaaS) platform called Entropik offers comprehensive consumer analytics at scale.
With multi-modal emotion AI technologies including face coding, eye tracking, and speech AI, it owns 17 global patents. Affect Lab, AffectUX, and Decode are some of its solutions that offer end-to-end customer insights at scale.
During the previous 18 months, Entropik has had a 7X increase, with 70% of its sales coming from the United States and Europe and the remaining 20% coming from India and Southeast Asia.
Hume AI is a market rival of Entropik with headquarters in New York. The IIT-Kharagpur alums had previously co-founded Red Castle and the online ticketing service OyeParty.
