The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is certainly one of the greatest of all times as he has 75 international centuries to his name and he is also the leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League. His track record as a skipper is also quite good at the international level but if we talk about his captaincy in the IPL, then it is a little disappointing as RCB hasn’t won even a single title till date.
Virat Kohli was back to captaincy in yesterday’s match which RCB played against Punjab Kings as the regular skipper Faf du Plessis was injured and he was included as the impact sub in the team. Virat Kohli gave up the Indian test team’s captaincy in 2022 after the South Africa tour and he gave up the RCB captaincy in 2021 as he wanted to manage his workload.
In yesterday’s match, Virat Kohli led a team after 464 days and his fans were a little happy seeing the glimpses of old days when Kohli used to lead RCB.
As far as the match which was played at Mohali is concerned, PBKS chose to bowl after winning the toss but the decision was proved wrong as Virat Kohli (59 runs, 47 balls, 5 fours & 1 six) and Faf du Plessis (84 runs, 56 balls, 5 fours & 5 sixes) put up a partnership of 137 runs for the first wicket.
RCB put up a total of 174/4 on the score board in their stipulated 20 overs and PBKS got all out for 150 runs in 18.2 overs.
As per the reports, Virat Kohli will lead RCB in the next four matches as well.
