Here’s why Ishaan Kishan was selected for WTC Final instead of KL Rahul

In a major setback for the Indian cricket team, right-handed batsman KL Rahul has been ruled out of the upcoming final of the ICC World Test Championship. The final is set to take place in London next month. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that wicket-keeper batsman IshanKishan will be included in the squad as a replacement for Rahul, who is currently nursing an injury.

The decision to include Ishaan Kishan in the Indian cricket team for the upcoming World Test Championship final against Australia at the Oval in London from June 7 to June 11 has taken many by surprise. This is due to the fact that Kishan has not yet made his debut in the Test format for India.

The individual has engaged in gameplay. There are three reasons behind why Ishaan Kishan was chosen over KL Rahul. The information is mutual. Ishan Kishan’s selection over KL Rahul for the WTC final was primarily due to his left-handed batting style. In a surprising revelation, it has been reported that Team India’s top 5 batsmen for the upcoming World Test Championship final do not include a single left-handed player.

Ravindra Jadeja is expected to feature in the upcoming match, although it is likely that he will be positioned at either No.6 or No.7. According to sources, it is imperative that one of the top 5 batsmen possess the ability to score runs against left-arm pacers.

Ishaan was granted an opportunity due to his dual role as a wicket-keeper and batsman. Despite lacking Test cricket experience, he is adept at wicket keeping on English pitches. If circumstances dictate, it is possible that KS Bharat may be forced to forego participation due to his right-handed batting style. If the ball spins too much, it will become an effortless task for him to keep wickets.

Left-handed batsman Ishaan Kishan is renowned for his ability to score runs at a rapid pace. With his ability to turn the tide of a game, much like Rishabh Pant, he has earned a spot on the team for the championship match, as confirmed by the BCCI. According to sources, KS Bharat is not typically known for his playing style, while KL Rahul is also not recognized for playing at a similar pace.

In addition to Ishan Kishan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had two additional players in mind for the final match following KL Rahul’s injury. While Surya kumar Yadav and Sarfaraz Khan were both considered as potential replacements, it appears that only Surya has been selected as a reserve by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The sole issue with him pertains to his right-handedness as a batsman.
