Taran Adarsh analyses the reasons responsible for the failure of Salman Khan starrer “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan”.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s recent release “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” hasn’t performed well on the box-office as it failed in meeting the expectations of fans. The movie has earned around Rs. 110 crore and it seems to have no chance against Adah Sharma starrer “The Kerala Story” which has become the second highest grossing movie of the year after crossing the Rs. 150 crore mark.
Bollywood analyst Taran Adarsh is quite upset with Salman Khan; he feels that the “Wanted” actor needs to do a reality check and he should work with bigger directors. The producers may have recovered their money in KKBKKJ but Taran Adarsh feels, “When you have films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan with Rs 300+ cr at the domestic box office, and this film falls short by leaps and bounds when it does Rs 100+ crore, that’s a complete downfall.”
Talking about the star power of Salman Khan, Taran gave the example of his cameo in Shah Rukh Khan starrer “Pathaan”. Taran stated, “Salman should realise his potential. When he drops his scarf in Pathaan, people go bonkers, there are whistles and claps all around, and not just on single screens, it happened in multiplexes too. So, just imagine the star power of this person. I am sure Salman knows that too.”
Taran Adarsh says that Salman Khan needs to work with big directors of the industry but the problem is that people in the film industry have bigger egos. In his words, “People have elephantine egos, aadmi baad mein aata hai humaare yahan, ego pehle aati hai..)”
The trade expert is the of the opinion that the Tiger of Bollywood needs a reality check as he says, “It’s high time they have a reality check and it’s high time they come out of their ivory towers. After Sultan, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan, you pick up films like Radhe, Race 3, and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, I mean what? Kya hai ye? (What is this even?) Your fans are bound to be dejected.”
