Police claimed Gandhi died in his sleep after a typical day. He finished visiting patients on Monday night as usual. He went home to Palace Road. Gandhi ate regular meal and fell asleep. His relatives reported he was OK that night. They also noted his good health.
He did not wake up the next day. His family tried to get him up at 6 am, a bit later than normal, but he didn’t answer. He was pronounced dead when the family took him to the hospital.
