He leaves Delhi Capitals after being referred to as the favourite to replace Chetan Sharma
The BCCI will soon announce the name of the person who will take up the role of chief selector as the post is empty for quite some time. Earlier Chetan Sharma, the former chief selector was sacked as a controversy erupted because of the sting operation in which he revealed much sensitive information regarding the Indian men’s cricket team.
There were many names which were doing rounds for this post but now it seems that a former Indian cricketer who represented Mumbai at the domestic level and was associated with Delhi Capitals till now will be the new chief selector.
If you are cricket enthusiast, you must be knowing that former Indian cricketer Ajit Agarkar and former Aussie cricketer Shane Watson have parted ways with DC and this news was shared on the official Twitter handle of DC as well.
DC tweeted, “You’ll always have a place to call home here, Thank You, Ajit and Watto, for your contributions. All the very best for your future endeavours”.
Many are seeing this as a confirmation that Ajit Agarkar will be the new chief selector, he made his debut in 1998 and in his career, he played 26 test matches, 191 ODIs and 4 T20Is.
