Teaching is a noble profession and a teacher is considered equivalent to God in our country but sometimes we come across such examples which make us feel that nowadays some teachers don’t deserve that much respect.
A government school teacher from Rajasthan has been sent to 10 years imprisonment by a POCSO court in Baran for raping a minor girl and also for threatening her. The name of the teacher is Vishvendra Meena (32 yrs), he was out on bail but as the decision was served by the court on Wednesday, he was sent to jail once again.
The public prosecutor Harinarayan Singh stated that the complaint was filed by the victim’s father in Anta police station in November 2016, he accused Meena of raping his daughter who was class 9 student at that time. Singh further said that Meena also recorded the video of the incident and threatened the girl that he would share the video online and would also fail her in examinations if she talked about this incident with anyone. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs. 10 lakh on Meena who belongs to Gendoli area in Bundi district.
In 2016, Meena was booked under Section 376 of the IPC and under some sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. After some time of getting arrested, he was granted bail and now he was arrested again after the judgement came.
