Immigration officers detained two Chinese nationals in Bihar after discovering that they had entered India illegally twice in less than a month, this time via Nepal. They were taken into custody on Saturday night at the East Champaran district’s Raxaul border checkpoint, according to Assistant Foreigner Regional Registration Officer SK Singh. He claimed that when questioned, the foreigners claimed to be Zhao Jing and Fu Cong and to be from the Chinese province of Jaoxing.
At Raxaul Integrated Check Post (ICP), on the Indo-Nepal border, on Saturday night, immigration officers detained two Chinese nationals for possessing invalid passports. On Sunday, they were presented before the SDJM court and sent to Motihari Central Prison.
The two, known as Fu Kang and Jhao Jing, were illegally entering Indian territory from Nepal. Before turning them over to the Hardia police station SHO for further action, they were questioned by the immigration agents and other security services and had their documents checked. Under the Foreigners Act, a complaint has been made against them at the Palanawa police station.
They were discovered to be lacking appropriate travel documents and stated that they had left their passports in a hotel the night before in Birganj, which is just across the border. According to Singh, they attempted to cross the border on foot after arriving at the border in an auto rickshaw.
According to records, the Chinese nationals made a prior effort to enter Indian Territory on July 2 when they claimed to have done so unintentionally, the immigration department officer continued. The official informed them that they had been released and that their passports had been returned with “entry refused” marked on them.
They repeatedly attempting to access the area raise concerns, he noted. For further investigation and action, they have now been turned over to the local police.
