Ex Pak Cricketers Slam PCB As Pakistan’s Name Is Missing On Asia Cup Logo

The Asia Cup 2023 has already started a couple of days back but the controversies related to it are not coming to an end. Recently, few former Pakistani cricketers slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board for not having “Pakistan” imprinted on the jerseys of the players as it is a common practice that the name of the host nation has to be imprinted along with the logo of the tournament on the jerseys.

Though PCB made it clear that the Asian Cricket Council took the decision of dropping name of the host country last year, the former Pak cricketers are not ready to accept it as Mohsin Khan stated, “Makes no sense at all. Then why has the ACC given the host country’s name on the logos for their Asian Emerging Nations Cup or their Asian under-16 event held in July in Malaysia.”

Rashid Latif was also very angry as he stated, “This is unacceptable and it is the Asian Cricket Council which must explain this oversight since the Asia Cup is their property.”

On the other hand, a former Pakistani cricketer said this on the basis of anonymity, “Given the current scenario between the two countries perhaps the BCCI official felt it would be embarrassing for the Indian team players to wear kits with the name of Pakistan on the official Asia Cup logo.”

India will play their first match of the tournament tomorrow against Pakistan at Pallekele International Cricket Ground, Kandy.
