9 killed, 27 injured in two deadly Maharashtra ambulance, bus accidents

Two Beed area road accidents killed nine, including a doctor, and injured 27. A speeding ambulance hit a truck at Ambhora, while a bus overturned at Aashta Fata.

Police reported Thursday that two private bus and ambulance accidents in Maharashtra’s Beed district killed nine people, including a doctor, and injured 27 others.

They stated a speeding bus from Mumbai to Beed, 120 km away, overturned at Aashta Fata around 6 am on Thursday.

The bus was fast. It crashed because its driver lost control, authorities said.

With local assistance, police began a rescue.

Five died in the collision. Ashti police station in-charge Santosh Khetmalas said four were from Beed and one from Yavatmal.

Twenty-six bus crash victims were injured. Another official stated they were treated in many hospitals.

He named the deceased as Dhondiba Shinde, Deodatt Peche, Mohammad Asif Dost Mohammed Khan, Ashok Bhondve, and Ravi Godambe.
