70-Yr Uber Driver Earns Rs 23 Lakhs A Year By Cancelling Rides Using This Strategy

Many people are leaving their regular jobs and taking up the job of an Uber driver as it gives them a chance of driving, travelling and meeting new people. The best part is that the earnings are also good and people get to do what they love instead of doing routine jobs.

The common notion is that the more you drive, the more you earn but one 70 years old Uber driver from North Carolina has earned more than $28,000 (approximately Rs 23.3 lakhs) by cancelling 30 percent of the trips and accepting less than 10 percent of the trips in a year.

The driver retired 6 years back and he started working as an Uber driver because he loves to get out. He also adds that he took the risk of cancelling requests because he is not dependent on Uber for income.

The driver revealed that he used to work only when there was a surge in demand as it increases the rates of payment as well and earlier he used to work 40 hrs per week but there was a decrease in surge in his area so he reduced his working hours to 30 per week. He also applied some strategies such as being available near airports in rush hours and bars on Fridays and Saturdays between 10:00 pm to 2:30 am.

He stated, “When a plane lands and people request Ubers the price jumps drastically. A 20-minute ride goes from $10 to $20 to $40 and sometimes $50. The driver gets just short of 50 per cent so a 35-minute ride can get you $30 to $60.”

Well, that is a good use of the brain, what do you say?
