Election Heat: The Top 10 Highlights of the Most-Watched Battle in Madhya Pradesh

  1. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the four-time chief minister, believes that this election presents an opportunity for a record-breaking fifth term, something that his opponents claim can never occur.
  2. There is conjecture that several, if not all, of the BJP’s seven MPs, who include national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Pralhad Patel, and Faggan Singh Kulaste, are running for the party’s top position.
  3. The party has also broken precedent by not fielding Mr. Chouhan as its candidate for chief minister, a move that has only fueled rumors.
  4. Supporters of Mr. Chouhan asserted that he would be the central leaders’ pick if the party regained power. They emphasized that only the first two lists featured the fielding of MPs, and that they were placed in seats where the party could only prevail through fierce opposition.
  5. The Bharatiya Janata Party, running its campaign under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s banner, is depending on its social welfare and development initiatives. The Ladli Behna project is the most recent addition to the latter group, and the party claims that it has been well-received by the rural populace.
  6. The Gwalior-Chambal and Mahakoshal areas, where the party performed poorly in the 2018 elections, have also been a major emphasis for the party. The area holds 72 of the 230 assembly seats in the state.
  7. The Congress has made its election promises in stages, using the successful model of Karnataka. The final round of pledges includes increasing the price of paddy procurement to ₹ 2,500 per quintal, filling 2 lakh unfilled positions, adding 1 lakh new posts in villages, and transforming the state into an industrial hub.
  8. Additionally, the party has set aside ₹ 1.01 lakh for daughters under the Beti Vivah Yojana and ₹ 2.51 lakh in benefits under the Meri Beti Ladli Yojana for girl children.
  9. This election is an opportunity for the Congress to exact payback and demonstrate once more that they, not the BJP, are the people’s choice. The party saw its government crumble when Jyotiraditya Scindia crossed over to the BJP camp with more than twenty followers.
  10. The votes from Telangana, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Chhattisgarh will be counted on December 3.
