The incidents of auto-drivers harassing woman passengers are on a rise and it’s high time that the governments should do something needful about it.
An X user made a post in which he narrated the horrific incident that happened with his female friend in Bengaluru. The girl was sexually assaulted by the Rapido auto driver and when she protested, she was thrown from the moving auto.
Here is what the X user wrote, “Rapido enables sexual predators. Do not use Rapido. One of my friends got sexually assaulted last night by a @rapidobikeapp auto driver. She was touched inappropriately and when she pushed back, she was thrown out of a moving auto. She reached out to Rapido to resolve this and they said sorry, we don’t store auto driver details, not our problem. We’re working on sorting this out, but in the meantime she needs medical care. If you have any leads on how we can find this guy, ping me. Be safe. Tell your female friends and family not to use Rapido.”
As of now, the FIR has been filed and as per the X user, Rapido is also cooperating in the process.
This is disgusting and something concrete should be done now.
