The Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB), which is billed as the largest corporate workplace in the world, is poised to grow into the biggest and most contemporary hub for the global diamond and jewelry trade. According to a government statement, it would serve as a major international hub for the trade of jewelry and polished and unpolished diamonds.
The SDB was constructed for ₹3400 crores on 35.54 acres of land, and has 67 lakh square feet of floor space. It will develop into a major hub for the trade of polished and raw diamonds worldwide. Constructed at the expense of 353 crores, Surat Airport’s recently integrated terminal building will have the capacity to handle 1,200 domestic and 600 international passengers per hour during peak hours, with an option to expand to 3,000 passengers.
PM Modi will make a two-day visit to Varanasi, his Lok Sabha seat, after launching two significant projects. There, he would introduce many development initiatives totaling more than ₹19,150 crore.
