The government of Mauritius has approved a two-hour break for Hindu personnel to attend Pran Prathishta rituals at Ram Mandir on January 22. “(The) Cabinet has agreed to the grant of a one-time special leave of two hours on Monday, January 22, 2024, as from 1400 hours to public officers of Hindu faith, subject to exigencies of service, in the context of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir in India, which is a landmark event as it symbolizes the return of Lord Ram in Ayodhya,” the Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth-led Mauritian Cabinet said in an official statement on Friday.
On January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to witness the ritualistic installation of the idol of Shri Ram Lalla within the magnificent temple’s sanctum sanctorum. A wide range of dignitaries and leaders from many fields have been invited to the big temple inauguration in Ayodhya.
Officials from the temple say the event will take place over seven days beginning on January 16. The sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple will see the enthronement of Ram Lalla at noon on January 22 by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
The US is getting ready for a weeklong holiday
Meanwhile, a senior official representing these temples announced that they are getting ready for a week-long celebration across North America to honor the opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22.
The fact that we are a part of this miracle and that, after centuries of waiting and suffering, the temple of our dreams is becoming a reality is our fortune and blessing. In the US and Canada, people’s emotions are running quite high. Shraddha (devotion) is built up and everyone is excitedly waiting to meet Bhagwan Shri Ram in his mandir,” Tejal Shah from the Hindu Mandirs Empowerment Council (HMEC) said on Monday.
The highest authority representing more than 1,100 Hindu temples in the US is the Hindu Mandir Empowerment Council (HMEC).
She stated that the week-long festivities at both large and small temples in North America would begin on January 15 and end on January 20 with a live broadcast of the opening of the Ram Temple from Ayodhya.
