The air journey is turning into a nightmare for Indian flyers, while the flights are getting delayed (1-14 hours and more) due to heavy fog, there was an incident in which the passengers were made to sit on tarmac and now a passenger had to sit on the commode in the whole journey because the lock of the bathroom door malfunctioned.
The incident took place in a SpiceJet flight which flew from Mumbai to Bengaluru on Tuesday at 2:10 am. Shortly after the flight took off, the passenger who was seated at 14D went to the restroom but when he tried to come out, the door didn’t open as the lock got stuck.
Though the crew of the flight tried their best to open the door from the outside, they couldn’t open the door and then they slipped a note inside the restroom in which they wrote that they couldn’t open the door and asked the passenger to close the lid of the commode and sit on it and not to panic. They told the passenger that they are going to land in few minutes and then an engineer will come.
Here is the note:
On landing, the door was opened and the passenger was provided with medical help as well. The passenger wrote in the complaint, “Had to suffer a lot inside the restroom, it was really suffocating and was hard to breathe. He had breathing issues while he was locked inside the restroom.”
SpiceJet issued a statement as per which, “On 16 January, a passenger unfortunately got stuck inside the lavatory for about an hour on SpiceJet flight operating from Mumbai to Bengaluru, while the aircraft was airborne due to a malfunction in the door lock. Throughout the journey, our crew provided assistance and guidance to the passengers. Upon arrival, an engineer opened the lavatory door, and the passenger received immediate medical support.”
Indian aviation is getting pathetic with each passing day.
