Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is expected to win six Rajya Sabha seats to fill 56 vacancies after February 27 elections. The ruling coalition. includes Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party faction and Janata Dal-United.

Election Commission announced 56 seats on Monday: 10 from Uttar Pradesh, 6 from Maharashtra and Bihar, 5 from Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal, 4 from Karnataka and Gujarat, 3 from Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Rajasthan, and 1 from Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Chhattisgarh

Congress may replace BJP chief J P Nadda in Himachal Pradesh. Insiders say Congress may give the seat to general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

To be renominated to the Rajya Sabha, Nadda must leave Himachal Pradesh, where the Congress dominates.

After the JDU rejoined the NDA, the BJP-JD(U) may win two Bihar seats from RJD and Congress.

In Maharashtra, the BJP-led alliance may win equal seats.

JD-U and RJD had two of Bihar’s six seats, while Congress and BJP each held one.

BJP held three of six Maharashtra seats, while NCP, Congress, and Shiv Sena held one each.

The BJP will win two Gujarat seats from the Congress due to its increased state legislature strength.
Elections likely yield 28 BJP seats.

The Upper House includes 114 NDA members, including 93 BJP.
