India’s Plan to Add 3 New Spy Planes For Strategic Monitoring

A ‘Made in India’ initiative is scheduled to see the delivery of three new spy planes to India. Next week, the defence ministry is expected to examine the request to purchase these three new spy planes, which are capable of intercepting enemy communications and signals, as reported by India Today TV.

They also stated that the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will collaborate to carry out the idea. With the help of this initiative, the Indian Air Force would have stronger capabilities in the area, which will provide it an advantage against Pakistan and China.

Furthermore, the Indian Air Force intends to acquire six brand-new domestic Netra-I observation aircraft to improve its monitoring capabilities along the borders with Pakistan and China. The Brazilian Embraer aircraft is the basis for the Netra-I Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft programme.

The Air Force, which already has two DRDO-developed Netra-I aircraft, will acquire six more as part of a resuscitation of the program.

“According to the plans, the six new aircraft will be manufactured in India by the DRDO and supplied to the Air Force as part of a project valued at over Rs 8,000 crore,” according to government sources.
