Jab We Met (2007) which was directed by Imtiaz Ali and starred Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead roles is one of the most loved Indian movies of all times and fans love it so much that they want to see its sequel as well.
In an interview, Shahid Kapoor also stated that he may collaborate with Imtiaz Ali for a movie and this is when the speculations regarding the sequel got strengthened.
However, Imtiaz Ali doesn’t seem to be in the mood of making a sequel as he said, “Why have a sequel to Jab We Met (laughs)? If people want to keep relishing the film, they can keep watching the first one! There has to be a story and a reason to make Jab We Met 2. But let’s see if it happens. Never say never!”
Imtiaz Ali and Kareena Kapoor Khan hadn’t worked together after Jab We Met and Imtiaz gave this reason for not uniting again, “Whenever you work with an actor, there’s also a responsibility to not do anything just for the sake of it. The idea is to reunite only when there’s a better or a completely different project compared to what you’ve done before.”
He further said, “Kareena and I are so fond of working with each other but we’ve never had the chance to work again till date because there was nothing different and unique enough or better than what we’ve done before.”
