The T20 World Cup 2024 is going to start from 2 June 2024 and many cricketers of the Indian squad have already reached the USA and some will be reaching soon.
India will start their T20 World Cup campaign from 5 June with playing their first match against Ireland and then they will face their arch-rival Pakistan on 9 June. The Indian team will certainly like to win the T20 World Cup which will be their second trophy after 2007 and it will also end the ICC trophy drought of 11 years.
There are few teams which are being considered as the favourites for winning the tournament but as per a former England cricketer, Rohit Sharma-led Indian side is the strongest team of the tournament. While having a chat with the former England cricketers – Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain, the former skipper of England cricket team Eoin Morgan stated, “The strongest side, even with injuries throughout the tournament, is India, without a doubt. Their strength and depth is absolutely incredible at the moment. And it’s almost probably, we’re talking about who the players that were missed out in their squad of 15 because of the quality that they possess.”
He further added, “They are favourites for me. I think that they’re just the quality that they have on paper. If they produce it, I think they can, they can beat anybody quite well in the tournament.”
