You Are Grilling Me..” Gautam Gambhir

The Indian cricket team will be getting a new head coach after the T20 World Cup 2024 as Rahul Dravid has made it clear that he is in no mood to extend his tenure.

Gautam Gambhir may have got some competition from former Indian cricketer W.V Raman but it is being said that the KKR mentor has better chances of getting selected in comparison to his competitor

As per the reports, they both were interviewed by the Cricket Advisory Committee and during an event when Gautam Gambhir was asked about his interview and his chances of coaching the Indian team, he avoided speaking about it. Gambhir said, “I don’t see that far ahead. You are grilling me, asking me all tough questions. It is difficult to answer right now. All I can say is that I’m happy being here, just finished a brilliant journey (and) let’s enjoy that. I’m in a very happy space right now.”

Talking about his coaching philosophy, Gambhir said that for him, the team always comes first. He said, “If you have the intent of keeping your team ahead of any individual, things will fall in place. If not today, tomorrow, if not tomorrow, someday it will fall in place. But if you start thinking on that, or if you know that you need to help one or two individuals perform, then your team will only suffer.”

He further added, “For me, the guru mantra is team first philosophy. I think team-first ideology, team-first philosophy is the most important ideology in any team sport.”

By the end of June, we will get to know the name of India’s new head coach.
