Rohit Sharma Reacts to Rumours of T20 International Retirement

The Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the T20 format just one hour after India’s win over South Africa in the final match of the T20 World Cup 2024 which was played on 29 June at Barbados.

During the press conference, Rohit Sharma stated, “No better time to say goodbye. This was my last game as well. I’ve enjoyed since the time I started playing this format. I’ve loved every moment of this. This is what I wanted – I wanted to win the cup.”

Recently, Rohit Sharma made it clear to everyone that he has taken retirement from the T20 format only and he will certainly play in test matches and ODIs. He said, “I just said it, I don’t look that far ahead. So clearly, you will be seeing me play for a while.”

While speaking at an event in Dallas, Rohit Sharma also talked about the final match of the T20 World Cup 2024. He said, “I was completely blank because I don’t think too far ahead. I focus on the situation. It was important for all of us to stay calm and execute our plans. So when they needed 30 off 30, the pressure was on us and the five overs that we bowled then, it showed we did our job calmly, didn’t panic which was very good from our side.”

Undoubtedly, there is a lot of cricket remaining in Rohit Sharma.
