The Indian cricket team suffered a huge defeat by 110 runs against Sri Lanka in the third ODI which was played yesterday at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo and with this defeat, India lost a series to Sri Lanka after 27 years.
Prior to the 3-match ODI series, India and Sri Lanka also played a 3-match T20I series which was whitewashed by India and many felt that the Indian team was complacent in this ODI series.
When Rohit Sharma was asked whether there was complacency in the Indian team, he called it a joke, he said, “It’s a joke. When you are playing for India there is never going to be complacency. As long as I’m here, that’s not going to be the case. But you have to give credit to good cricket. Sri Lanka played better than us.”
The Indian team struggled a lot against spin in this ODI series and when Rohit was asked about it, he said, “I don’t think it’s a concern, but it’s something we need to look at seriously — our individual game plans — and it’s something (that) we were definitely put under pressure within this series.”
